Prerequisites
In order to login to your fme laptop you need to have the following things ready:
- Your fme e-mail address as your username
- Your current fme password

(At first login) A direct connection into the fme network e.g. in a fme office
Login Process
The login process differs depending if you were the last person who was logged into the device. In that case you don´t need to enter your username but only your password.
If it is your first login to the device or somebody else was logged in, you have to choose "Other user" enter your fme e-mail address and your current fme password.
Changing your password
In case you need to change your password because you forgot it or due to other reasons, you have two different methods depending if you still know your current password or not.
I know my current password
If you know your current password and you are able to login to your laptop, make sure that your laptop is online and your VPN connection is working.
Hit STRG + ALT + DEL on your keyboard and choose "Change password". Now set your new password. Your password is now set on your local laptop and must sync into the fme backend via VPN, in order to do this lock your laptop via WINDOWS KEY + L . Log back in with your new password.
I don´t know my current password
If you don´t know your current password, you need to have your 2nd factor registered with https://accountservice.fme.de in order to change it on your own. Otherwise contact https://support.fme.de
If you have your second factor registered at https://accountservice.fme.de, you have to click on "Click for https://accountservice.fme.de" on your login screen in order to reset your password. Follow the instructions to execute the password change.
Troubleshooting
- Make sure that your laptop is connected to the internet. The icons in the right lower corner are showing the current state of your internet connection as follows:

If you had 4 failed login attempts, you account will get locked for 15 minutes until it will unlock itself. You can unlock it faster via https://accountservice.fme.de and following the instructions after entering your username, if you have a second factor registered.
