Prerequisites
In order to login to your fme laptop you need to have the following things ready:
- Your fme e-mail address as your username
- Your current fme password

(At first login) A working internet connection
Login Process
The login process differs depending if you were the last person who was logged into the device. In that case you don´t need to enter your username but only your password.
If it is your first login to the device or somebody else was logged in, you have to choose "Other user" enter your fme e-mail address and your current fme password.
Changing your password
In case you need to change your password because you forgot it or due to other reasons, it is recommended to change it via https://accountservice.fme.de directly from your laptop or from any other device with an internet connection. This way your password is changed directly in the fme backend and will be synchronised to all connected systems including your laptop (internet connection required). It might take 5 to 10 minutes until you laptop recognises your new password.
If you forgot your password, you need to have your 2nd factor registered with https://accountservice.fme.de in order to change it on your own.
Troubleshooting
- Make sure that your laptop is connected to the internet. The icons in the right lower corner are showing the current state of your internet connection as follows:
- If you just changed your password, wait 5-10 minutes until your laptop accepts your new password. Sometimes a restart is necessary.
- If you had 4 failed login attempts, you account will get locked for 15 minutes until it will unlock itself. You can unlock it faster via https://accountservice.fme.de and following the instructions after entering your username, if you have a second factor registered.
